Russian Language Course - Saint Petersburg

The Russian language is gaining importance, as Russia has won back its position as an economical and political world player. However, the Russian language is not easy, and very hard to learn from a book. The best way to learn Russian is to study it in the country where it is spoken.

The Russian Language Department of the Saint Petersburg Politechnic State University in co-operation with the Dutch training and project management company LLC Petrion, developped a joint program for foreigners to come to Saint Petersburg to study Russian.

The program offers language courses "Russian for foreigners" (individual or group lessons), accommodation (hostel, host family, hotel, or own apartment), visa support, excursions, and airport transfers. Arrivals and departures on Saturday, lessons on weekdays.

People from all ages participate at the course. About 40% is student, 30% in the age category 25 to 35 years, and 30% older than 35. Many business people participate.

The location of the lessons is at the campus of the Polytechnic University. Student hostel and host families are located in the same area (near metro Politekhnicheskaya and Ploshad Muzhestwa). A direct metro line goes to the centre (5 stops to Ploshad Vosstanya).
