Russian language courses
The Russian language courses at the are taught
by experienced and
certified teachers of Russian as foreign language. The most actual and
progressive methods are used in teaching the Russian language.
Our courses are given on six levels (according
to the international
TORFL-system) This Russian State multilevel testing system has been
included
into the European structure of language testing ALTE. The levels
indicated are
the levels when starting the course:
Level
0 - "Zero"
- You know words like Vodka
and Perestroika but that's all. Maybe you did come to the alphabet.
Level B - "Basic Elementary" - You
did once a beginner
course. Know a bit of Russian. You can tell who you are, buy a bread,
ask for
the road.
Level 1 - "Treshold" - You
know the basic grammar,
you're able to have simple conversations.
Level 2 - "Independed" - You can read simple newspaper
articles,
expressing almost everything you want to say. You understand what
people say to
you.
Level 3 - "Competent" - Complete conversations and
reading
is not a problem anymore. Sometimes you ask for a word you don't know
and from
time to time you make your grammar mistakes.
Level 4 - "Fluent" - You're
fluent, maybe not satisfied
about some specific elements in your knowledge. Only that could be a
reason to
take some lessons.
There are several programs offered by our
school, depending on length of
stay and intensity of language courses.
Group
courses
Group courses are given for the levels 0 and B. Lenghts of the courses
are 2, 4
or 10 weeks. Intensiveness varies from 6, 10 or 20 hours per week.
These are
academic hours and correspond to 45 minutes (as everywhere). Check on
the Dates
& Prices section when the courses take place.
Individual
courses
Individual courses are given on every level (0, B, 1, 2, 3, 4). The
benefit of
individual courses is very high. But be aware: it also requires a lot
of effort
and concentration! For those who are not affraid for workload and are
really
serious about learning a lot in a small amount of time.
Furthermore: the levels 2 and higher require
anyway an individual
approach (It is too difficult to plan people of exactly the same level,
with
the same weaknesses in one group). The focus is according to individual
requirements, this could be grammar, conversation, literature or
technical
specialisation (medical, juridical, business etc.)
Business
Course
Business Course: 1 week, 6 days lessons, 1 day free, 6 x 8 hour
individual
lessons per day (divided in 2 sessions of 4 hours by different
teachers).
All programs can be extended upon your wishes
with individual lessons. For
all individual lessons counts, that you can completely influence the
content. So
"medical Russian", "technical Russian" or
"poetry" belongs to the possibilities. Please note this already on
the application form, so we can plan and prepare!
Certificate
Every
participant gets an official certificate,
identifying the level of knowledge of Russian language as a foreign
language. Our
school is licensed to provide certification.
Testing
according TORFL
We
offer the possibility to prepare for a TORFL-test. TORFL-tests
are taken at the State University.
Our teachers
are member of the certification committee of the St.
Petersburg State
University.
Starting
courses on a certain level does not automatically mean passing the exam
for the
next level. Everything depends on the length of your stay,
intensiveness of
the course, talent, time spend on self study. When you want
certification
according TORFL, explain very clear your level at the application form.
